Electrical upgrades along Mountain Home Road will begin in mid-April 

TRAFFIC UPDATE for Mountain Home Road work

 

Chelan County PUD is performing upgrades on the electrical system along Mountain Home Rd. from the intersection with E Leavenworth Rd. south approximately one-half mile. The work is needed to upgrade aging equipment and maintain reliable electric service. The existing overhead section of the line will be converted underground.

We have been in the area for a few weeks working on the project and have reached a point in the project where we anticipate some additional traffic impacts for a portion of the project.

UPDATED TRAFFIC IMPACTS:

• Work began in mid-April and should complete in mid-June.
• We anticipate the additional traffic impacts will happen when we are working on the upper portion of Mtn. Home Rd.
• We anticipate the traffic impacts will begin the week of May 20. Once we start, we expect to be in this situation for about a week.
• We will begin with 1-lane, flagger-controlled traffic delays. This may require periodic, 20-minute, full closures.
• As we move through this area, we may need to transition to full closure, with openings at top of each hour for 15 minutes. If this is going to occur, we will email with updates.
• Working hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
