Producer's Checklist
Follow these steps to become a SNAP producer
1. Download or pick up a packet from Chelan County PUD with these items:
- Interconnection Application
- Copy of Interconnection Standards
- Power Purchase and Interconnection Agreement
- Department of Revenue Renewable Energy System Cost Recovery Certification Form
- Department of Revenue Renewable Energy System Cost Recovery Annual Incentive Payment Application
2. Submit Interconnection Application and $110 application fee to Chelan County PUD.
3. Chelan County PUD reviews application. If approved, PUD sends signed contract to you (prospective producer).
4. Obtain electrical permit from local code authority.
5. Install system (or have electrical contractor do this work). Note that equipment and labor costs to install solar power systems are exempt from Washington state sales tax.
6. Install proper labels on electrical disconnects and meter base.
7. Obtain final electrical inspection approval from code authority.
8. Notify Chelan County PUD of completion.
9. Chelan County PUD inspects system and installs meter.
10. Submit the Renewable Energy System Cost Recovery Certification Form (see above) to the state Department of Revenue. (Click here for the Department of Revenue's Renewable Energy System Cost Recovery Frequently Asked Questions.)
11. Operate system.
12. Submit state Renewable Energy System Cost Recovery Annual Incentive Payment Application (see above) to Chelan County PUD before August 1 each year.
13. Chelan County PUD sends annual SNAP payment to producer in April and state production incentive payment to producer after August 1 of each year.
