Invitation to participate in planning the District's future
By Rich Riazzi, General Manager
8/8/2006
Beginning Aug. 23, we are launching a series of evening meetings that we hope will provide a solid foundation for making important decisions that will shape the PUD’s future.
Community leaders, customer-owners, PUD employees and board members are invited to get together in at least four strategic planning sessions that will be scheduled over the next six months or so. The first will be Aug. 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the Confluence Technology Center. These meetings will be recorded, and any of you who cannot attend will be able to listen afterward to the recording on the Internet. We invite your comments and ideas at any time.
In the early sessions we will review where the PUD stands today, report on the products, services and activities offered by the PUD and the revenue and costs associated with each. In follow-up meetings, we expect to cover financial and operational challenges faced by the PUD, look at future priorities, identify action plans and have the board develop principles to guide our future direction.
We invite you to attend our sessions and offer your input as we develop action plans to prepare this utility for a productive future in the face of significant challenges. Being able to participate is one more benefit of living in a public power community. I look forward to seeing many of you and meeting you personally.
