Did you know that power poles have belly buttons?

The belly button, or round metal nameplate, tells Chelan County PUD crews the type of wood it’s made of and where it was born, in addition to other things.

Your neighborhood power pole also carries phone and TV lines, and of course power lines and equipment to deliver electricity.

There’s a lot to see, but please keep your distance for safety.
