PUD employee receives state honor

Cary Eller, PUD water quality program coordinator, was named Operator of the Year by the state Department of Health as part of annual Drinking Water Week, May 3-9.
Eller was nominated for his work with Chelan County PUD’s water system as well as his work as the contract operator of 11 small water systems in Chelan, Douglas and Grant counties.
"Drinking water is essential to our daily lives, and keeping it safe is a round-the-clock task," said Denise Clifford, director of the state Health Department’s Office of Drinking Water. "During National Drinking Water Week we’re honoring five outstanding individuals and organizations; all have done a great job of keeping water safe to drink and responding quickly when an emergency occurred.
Eller will receive his award on Thursday, May 7 at a private reception.
