Power restored after tree falls into line near Plain
Chelan County PUD
News Release
5/19/2009
A tree fell into a transmission line carrying electricity to the Plain Substation about 8 a.m. Tuesday, causing a power outage that affected Chelan County PUD customers from Leavenworth west along Highway 2 to Coles Corner and up Chumstick Canyon to Plain and Lake Wenatchee.
Power was rerouted and service restored to most customers by 8:30 a.m. after the tree was located in the line near the Plain Substation. After removing the tree, PUD crews found damage to insulators on the transmission line. Repairs were finished by about 1 p.m., and power was restored to several hundred Plain-area customers who were still without service.
