Trees in the line cause outages

Electric service to about 160 Chelan County PUD customers in the Manson area was interrupted for up to two hours Thursday after a tree limb blew into power lines near town.
The outage was reported about 10:45 a.m. PUD crews were able to reroute power and restore service to some customers on Lake Chelan’s north shore by noon and all customers by 1:10 p.m. The areas affected included Bennett Road, Boyd Road, Chelan Shores, the Chelan-Manson highway, Cooley Road, Cooper Gulch, Lloyd Road, Purtteman Gulch, Swanson Gulch, and Swartout Road.
A second power outage was reported about noon Thursday, affecting about 60 customers living from 20 miles up Entiat River Road to the end of the line. PUD crews removed a tree from the line and power was restored by 2:45 p.m.
