Morning outage affects neighborhood near Western Avenue

Chelan County PUD
News Release
9/18/2009

An underground cable problem along McKittrick Street in Wenatchee is believed responsible for an electric power outage that affected more than 700 customers Friday morning.

A circuit breaker at the Western Substation opened at 6:02 a.m. and interrupted power in an area near Western between Walnut and Springwater. By 6:25 a.m. Chelan County PUD crews had closed the breaker and restored power to all but 55 customers in the 1100 block of McKittrick Street.

Crews then worked to pinpoint the precise location of the underground cable problem so repairs could be made. First estimates were that power was likely to be restored to remaining customers by noon.
