What
Electrical upgrades are needed to maintain reliable electric service for the Alpine Tracts and Idlewild. Increased electrical use in the area has created the need for additional capacity to serve these developments. As part of the electrical upgrades, conduit will also be installed to prepare for future fiber network expansion.
In October 2023, PUD contractors began installing duct and vault in Phase I of the project. We are currently working to secure all necessary land rights.
Spring work
We anticipate continuing construction on Phases II and III of the project, following final acquisition of land rights. Once construction begins, PUD line crews will install electrical equipment east of Chiwawa River Rd. starting in late spring. Additional PUD contractors will perform excavation at the same time.
