Chelan PUD parks – Here for everyone

by Rachel Hansen | Mar 22, 2024

Every day, thousands of people are enjoying the Chelan PUD parks system – jogging, walking pets, playing sports, peddling electric bikes and riding one-wheel scooters. Chelan PUD released a new video series this month with a few pointers on how we can all keep the Apple Capital Loop Trail – and surrounding parks areas – safe and fun for everyone.

Here’s a preview of the new series:

To improve safety, Chelan PUD also has installed new speed signage so that Loop trail users can check their speed. Visitors can expect to see more “10 MPH” notices painted on the trail and new signage alerting people to congested areas. Chelan PUD is also working with law enforcement for additional parking lot and bike patrols.

Some key tips for parks visitors include:

  • Keep your speed to no more than 10 m.p.h.
  • Pass on the left
  • Give an “on your left” or bell when passing
  • Be extra careful in congested areas
  • Leash and pick up after your pet

“We all can do our part to protect and enhance our treasured parks system,” said Chelan PUD Parks Manager Ryan Baker. “Working together, we can ensure our parks are protected for today’s visitors and generations to come.”
