Chelan County PUD

Chelan County Public Utility District was formed in 1936 by local voters who wanted affordable power for all county residents. We delivered our first electricity 11 years later, to a small group of customers near Lake Chelan. Today, we operate three hydro projects that deliver clean, renewable, low-cost energy to local residents and to other utilities that serve millions of residents of the Pacific Northwest.

Heads up: Annual transmission line inspections start this week

by Rachel Hansen | Jun 11, 2024

Residents may see a helicopter flying low and slowly over high-voltage power lines starting Thursday. Chelan PUD is conducting a routine, annual inspection over 300 miles of transmission lines – from Stevens Pass to Wenatchee, Palisades to Manson. The inspection flights will continue over the next couple of weeks, depending on weather conditions.
