Hybrid Water Heaters

Hybrid water heaters (also called heat pump water heaters) last 50% longer than conventional electric water heaters and save up to 60% on your costs to heat water. Many models have better controls and can be Wi-Fi enabled.

Placing a hybrid water heater in spaces that need cooling, such as rooms for aging wine, will cool and dehumidify the surrounding space without any additional energy.

Commercial Rebate Exclusions

The following properties are not eligible for the commercial rebate program, regardless of meter type:
❌ Short-term rentals (e.g., vacation rentals, Airbnb, VRBO)
❌ Long-term rental properties
❌ Condos and townhomes
❌ Cabins and other residential-style lodging

However, these properties may qualify for rebates through the residential rebate program. Please visit the Residential Rebates page more information.

1. Your Space and Existing Water Heater

New hybrid water heater must replace an existing electric water heater

Note: New construction and additions are not eligible.

2. New Hybrid Water Heater

Your new water heater must:

Be listed on this Qualified Product List and be at least Tier 2 or Tier 3 of any tank size

3. Paperwork

Completed Hybrid Water Heater Application Form
Equipment or contractor invoice showing cost, purchase/order date, and that the equipment meets eligibility requirements (manufacturer, model number, and quantity installed)

1. Install Your Hybrid Water Heater

Work with your contractor to make sure an eligible water heater is installed.

2. Send in Paperwork

Gather your paperwork and send them (or as your contractor to submit them) to conservation@chelanpud.org or:

What Happens Next?

We'll review your paperwork, and contact you if anything is missing or we need more information.

With your paperwork complete, we might schedule an inspection to make sure your hybrid water heater was installed correctly.

If all checks out, you'll receive your incentive payment in the mail, or we can pay your contractor directly.
