Chelan PUD will pay up to 100% of the cost to improve your insulation. Insulating your business is one of the most cost-effective and longest-lasting ways to reduce your heating and cooling costs.

Attic or Walls

You're adding insulation to an attic or ceiling with R0-R5 or an uninsulated wall (R0) in an electrically-heated space

These PUD incentives often pay for your full project costs, with nothing out of pocket to you. Just in case, any upgrades beyond PUD incentives qualify for low-rate EnergySmart financing.

Eligibility

Is your building eligible for an incentive on insulation?

Commercial Rebate Exclusions

The following properties are not eligible for the commercial rebate program, regardless of meter type:
❌ Short-term rentals (e.g., vacation rentals, Airbnb, VRBO)
❌ Long-term rental properties
❌ Condos and townhomes
❌ Cabins and other residential-style lodging

However, these properties may qualify for rebates through the residential rebate program. Please visit the Residential Rebates page more information.

1. Your Space and Heating

Heating must be electric
Existing insulation for attics and ceilings must be R0-R5
Existing walls must be uninsulated (R0)

Note: New construction and additions are not eligible.

2. New Insulation

Attic and ceiling insulation must fill the cavity and achieve R19-R49.
Wall insulation must achieve R11-R19.

3. Paperwork

1. Install Your Insulation

Work with your contractor to make sure your new insulation meets minimum R-value levels and are installed.

2. Send in Paperwork

Gather your paperwork and send them (or as your contractor to submit them) to conservation@chelanpud.org or:

What Happens Next?

We'll review your paperwork, and contact you if anything is missing or we need more information.

With your paperwork complete, we may schedule an inspection to make sure your insulation thermostat was installed correctly and verify your heat type.

If all checks out, you'll receive your incentive payment in the mail, or we can pay your contractor directly.
