UPDATE ON ELECTRICAL UPGRADES IN THE FISH LAKE AREA

What

Electrical upgrades are needed to maintain reliable electric service for the Alpine Tracts and Idlewild. Increased electrical use in the area has created the need for additional capacity to serve these developments. As part of the electrical upgrades, conduit will also be installed to prepare for future fiber network expansion. In October of 2023, Chelan County PUD contractors began installing duct and vault in Phase I & II of the project. Construction was paused in late November for weather and land rights acquisition.

Now:

• Phase 1 – Work is complete.
• Phase 2 – Work has been paused as we continue to acquire land rights and transition to a new contractor.
• Phase 3 – We are currently staking and preparing for construction in the Idlewild section of the project. You will see stakes and painted locate marks in your area.

What's next?

• Construction in Phase III is expected to begin in late June. Once works begins, we anticipate it will last about ten weeks.
• We anticipate returning to Phase II after land rights are acquired.
• Following completion of all excavation, PUD line crews will install electrical and fiber equipment where applicable.
