The 3-mile Reach 1 Trail, completed in 2010, provides a scenic
opportunity for local people and visitors to explore
the Chelan River which enhances community recreation
as part of its federal license to operate the Lake Chelan Hydro Project.
- The first ½-mile section of trail begins at the
Riverwalk Loop Trail Trail boat launch on the south
side of the Chelan River. This section is paved and accessible
to all.
Interpretive signs tell how water is carried from the
lake down to the powerhouse at Chelan Falls.
- The lower 1.1-mile section of the trail is graveled and
winds through the natural riverbanks.
Enjoy learning about the American Indian Tribes that inhabited
the Chelan Valley, area wildlife, and unique geology.
Please respect wildlife and the natural surroundings as you
enjoy the trail.
