Free Home Ignition Zone Assessments
Wondering what you can do to make your home more resistant to wildfire? Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue and Cascadia Conservation District have special training to assess your structure and defensible space. They will provide recommendations on how to make your structure and landscape more resistant to wildfire embers and safer for first responders.
Free Roving Chipper Program
Landowners reduce fuels on their property by cutting and pruning trees and brush, stack the material near a road and Cascadia will send a contractor to chip your material for free. Sign-ups are required and will open soon on their website. An additional Free Chipping program available through Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue.
Firewise Community USA Program
Cascadia Conservation District can provide guidance, presentations, and technical assistance to neighborhoods, communities, and HOAs interested in becoming a recognized Firewise Community. This is a free, voluntary program through the National Fire Protection Agency and can be an opportunity to be eligible for grant programs otherwise not available to reduce wildfire risk in communities.
Forestry Technical and Financial Assistance
Curious about fuels reduction, logging, improving wildlife habitat, reducing wildfire risk, maintaining forest roads, improving culverts, or natural resource issues on your land? Department of Natural Resources or Cascadia Conservation District foresters can come to your property for free to provide recommendations and financial assistance programs which reduce wildfire risk and improve forest health.
